Arture
THINGS THAT DO THE RIGHT THING
Things we buy have stories. They also have after stories. Where do they come from, what happens after we let go of them? How do we make sure these stories have happy endings? Happy endings for the environment.
At Arture we decided to write these stories ourselves.
From start to end.
Right from the beginning, we source 100% natural materials. Nature is our procurement officer. We derive raw materials, that is, plant-based fabrics from where they are naturally grown and harvested. Next, we make the best use of these materials. We design with minimalism, functionality and sustainability in mind. Less is more when we're taking from the environment.
Juru yoga
‘juu-roo’ means ‘joy and happiness’ in native tribal languages around the world.
JURU is a portmanteau of JUte and RUbber and our first mat overlay was made of jute and natural rubber. ‘juu-roo’ also means ‘eureka’, ‘joy’ in a few tribal languages. Instead of crying Eureka we cried JURU! And this is precisely what JURU is – a perfect yoga companion for yogis who wish to choose the eco-friendly path.
JURU has grown from being a product name to being a made-in-India yoga brand that strives to deliver innovative, comfortable and trending, eco-friendly yoga mats, props and accessories made from unique and sustainable resources like cork, jute, natural rubber, cotton, etc., for yoga-lovers across the globe.
We believe that JURU products are not an outcome of long hours of brainstorming and hard-work alone, but also of love, built to celebrate yoga’s many triumphs, a gift from one yogi to another, a gift from a yogi to nature!
Himalayan weavers
Did you know that 20% of water pollution comes from dyeing textiles with toxic chemicals? That’s why we have chosen to collaborate with Himalayan Weavers, based in Himalayas, who only use 100% natural plant dyes to achieve the vibrant colours of their luxurious scarves and stoles. Hand-crafted from Himalayan wool sourced from local farmers, we can vouch that everyone involved in the production process is treated fairly and adequately compensated.
